REQUEST

Archive reorganization and completion, transition to a different 3D platform, creation of metadata structure for insertion into PDM, automation of tube generation procedures.

SOLUTION

Having knowledge of the design methods and information structure of the two CAD platforms, D&P was able to provide its Client with an analysis capable of enhancing the strengths of each platform.

An initial data consolidation phase was performed within the original CAD platform by creating a procedure for the coding and unique identification of components, the analysis of assemblies aimed at eliminating redundant or obsolete documents and the creation of a common archive.

A second phase of migration to the new CAD platform followed through neutral exchange formats, proceeding with the creation of correct constraints and through appropriate masks to insert all the metadata into the individual files.

A final phase was the remodeling in native format of the future platform of key components, following the same parameterization of the current CAD format and also defining a specific guideline for modeling that would allow the automated generation, through appropriate macros, of the tube bending table to be inserted in the technical documentation.
